About the Instructor:

About the Course:

The beauty of line, the wonder of pattern, the dynamics of colour, the subtly of form. Artists gravitate to different printmaking processes because they express different elements of art. This course provides focused instruction in relief (linocut) and intaglio (drypoint) and collagraph platemaking and printing. Starting from students’ drawings and photos, we will develop the skills to transform any image into rich prints, focusing on strong TBD pattern, line, form, composition, and colour. We will print with less toxic vegetable oil-based inks.

What her students say:
Deidre’s classes strike a lovely balance of learning about the various printmaking techniques and then setting us free to be playful and creative and to discover the magical process of print making.  I will be taking more classes from Deidre! – Jen
I was very impressed with how Deidre led the class in creative fun exercises of discovery, where everyone worked together as a team.  She also celebrated the achievements of each student.  I’ll be back in her class! – kd
I have known Diedre for many years both as a teacher and an excellent artist in her own right. The printmaking course at the Kanata Art Club was an inspiring and informative class. Diedre was always quick to help all the students resolve their printmaking challenges. – CS
